Warm earth tones abound in these simple earrings. We used picture jasper ovals, small spheres of hematite, and pretty silver plated spheres. The earrings hang just over 1 inch beneath the sterling earwires. As with all of our earrings, these come in ziplock bags to keep tarnish away and earnuts to keep them safe while wearing them. We have a choker and bracelet that match this necklace.

Jaspers are one form of chalcedony - a large family of microcrystalline quartz. Chalcedonies include such stones as bloodstone, carnelian, etc. Jaspers often contain differing sedimentary minerals, including shards or pigmentation from other individual chalcedonies. They are a very fascinating arm of the quartz crystal family!

Magickal lore tells us that Jaspers have "cooling" energy. They are said to encourage healing and longevity, assist with sleep problems, and their extensive use in the ancient world as amulets denotes the protective vibe that jaspers bring. This stone, which grows in many colors and types, has been indicated as increasing health and feelings of well-being, lessening fear under stress, and promoting the courage to manifest your dreams! It is also a stone said to bring peace during times of endings. Jasper helps you to stay anchored even while doing meditative or Astral work, and nurtures you even while helping you to learn new ways to nurture others. It is a wonderful stone family which is very helpful to work with and wear.

Picture jasper is wonderful for exploring subconscious symbols and patterns which wish to rise to the surface of your mind. Hematite is natural iron oxide. The raw form was used by many aboriginal cultures to make red face paint. Hematite brings the gift of emotional and mental balance when thoughts or feelings may seem overwhelming. The shiny stone allows emotions to come through to the conscious mind in a safe and gentle manner. This lovely stone works with the Root Chakra as well, helping to bring you into a place wherein you will feel more secure on the earth plane. Also, if you do a lot of work with crystals and stones, wear many Water Element stones, have a lot of Water signs in your astrological chart, are dealing with overly-emotional experiences, etc., carrying or wearing hematite will keep you from getting too spacey or overwhelmed!
