Pilgrim Glass Cranberry Ice Cream Sundae Vase Deep Ruffled Rim Clear Glass Base

Offering for your consideration we have a pretty vase with a deeply ruffled rim and a clear glass base. The estate of which we purchased this told us that they were manufactured by the Pilgrim Glass Co. of West Virginia and purchased by their aunt in the late 1960's.

Cranberry glass was introduced to the Pilgrim line in 1968. Although always popular, few glass manufacturers attempted this color, which involves an often temperamental combination of lead oxide and real gold.

This vase stands 4" high and is a real beauty with the clear glass base that has a tube of glass around the top of base where it meets the body. This definitely reminds me of an ice cream sundae dish.
