A gorgeous 19th century Ludwigsburg porcelain figurine, depicting a lady having her hair coiffured. This figurine is filled with such delightful whimsy and charm! A gentleman appears to be watching the time as the hairdresser hurriedly works his magic on the piled high coiffed pouf! The lady is seated by a marbleized table, with her black and white dog at her side. Strewn across the table are a cluster of objects-including a mirror, jewelry casket and clippings of hair and sprinkled throughout the base are a variety of applied porcelain flowers and gilt rocailles. Masterfully detailed and beautifully hand painted, from the hair in their powdered wigs to the buckles on their shoes and the button holes/slits in their jackets! A Meissen quality piece. Marked at the base with an older Ludwigsburg crowned C’s mark.

Condition: In good condition for its age, the figurine has been professionally restored to the dog’s tail and to the hairdresser’s neck.

Figurine measures approx. 9” tall x 7 ½” in length at the base.
