Antique McKee Glass Gladiator Tobacco Jar Humidor 1897

A fabulous Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) Tobacco Jar from McKee Glass circa 1897. The pattern is Gladiator.

This large vintage pressed glass jar is 5 1/8 inches wide and is 7 1/8 inches tall to the rim of the jar and 9 inches tall with the lid on. The outside of the lid, and the inside of the jar are ground so that they fit perfectly together.

It is in great condition for it's age and has just a few minor issues to note. As this is a very large, thick and heavy piece of glass, it does have several annealing or cooling marks. The jar has a few tiny rim chips where the lid sits inside. The largest of these is about 1/8th inch. The lid has what I can best describe as a "bruise" and a couple of small areas of rim roughness. There is some age-appropriate base wear.
