An absolutely stunning large cider or lemonade pitcher from the Lenox Belleek factory, made between 1906-1924. It is in perfect condition! (Please note that any white spots in the photos are camera glare.) Beautifully decorated with rich sky blue background, fabulous apples hanging from branches and an array of green leaves, it is captivating in its beauty. 5 3/4" tall and 8" from spout tip to handle edge. It is marked on the bottom with the green Lenox palette mark and signed "Harvey".

American Belleek began production in Trenton, New Jersey at Ott & Brewer, who tried to copy the formula of the famous Irish porcelain in the late 1800's. Their efforts resulted in a similar hard paste ware known today as American Belleek. One of Ott & Brewer's talented designers was Walter Scott Lenox. In 1889, Lenox and Jonathan Coxon, Sr., founded the Ceramic Art Company, which produced beautiful American Belleek wares that rivaled and most often exceeded beauty and quality of the highly popular hard paste porcelain produced in Limoges, France. Lenox took over the Ceramic Art Company in 1906, and the lettering on the green palette mark that Ceramic Art had used was changed from CAC to an L to reflect Lenox' sole ownership of the firm. American Belleek porcelain is known for its high quality and exquisite decoration. Far more scarce than its Limoges counterparts, it is highly prized and an investment in ceramic art.
