An antique Victorian firescreen with cherub or putto worked in bead and wool needlepoint. Rich colors offset by the rich black and gilt trimmed stand. The face of the cherub is beautifully worked in the center of the panel in shades of black, pewter gray, and white. The rest of the needlework surrounding the cherub is in a aged gold color. The frame of the firescreen is ebonized wood with painted gilt trim to the turned edges and cutouts.

The panel moves freely and turns to reveal a rich lining. The firescreen rests on 4 porcelain wheels.

Measurements; 42" high X 28" wide
